Documentary Pitch & proposal

I will be looking at the M25 protest and I will be trying to get the best research to gather a view on the subject. This will be to try and get my message across to the audience and ask, Are the M25 protests a more aggressive way of getting their point across by obstructing the public in an aggrieve manner rather than a more passive way? My purpose to make this documentary, is to educate why the M25 protesters were wrong to deliver their protest in a disruptive and obstructive way, also I will look how they could have made a better protest in a more passive and non-obstructive way to the public.

Insulate Britain is an environmental activist group, formed by people involved in the global environmental movement Extinction Rebellion (a global environmental movement). The group began hosting both online and in-person events in July 2021, also raising money for direct action.

Founded with the aim of ensuring insulation across Britain, the group laid out two specific demands for its September 2021 protests.  The first is that the British government fund insulation of all social housing by 2025, and the second is that, by the end of 2021, the government must create a plan to fund retrofitting of insulation of all homes in Britain by 2030.

I want to ask the audience a question, I will focus on more of an adult type of group so this will not be aimed at children, but it will be aimed at young adults and older drivers that will want to know more about the situation. People might wonder why they do the things they do in such a disruptive way. I want to find out if the audience either agrees with the way they protest and how they stopped both sides of the motorway, or do they think it is wrong and that blocking both ways is dangerous as it could stop someone from lifesaving treatment. I will look at different points of view that are not biased but will give me information on both topics that will give me a trusted answer to present to my audience.

I will include archive footage and interview people that this affects. I could get quotes from people that are involved with the protests or people that are affected by the protests. I am also going to email someone that will have an impactful decision or

a politician that can give me a reason that they

would have to protest if there are not any

questions being raised in parliament. I am

making sure that the people I interview know the

question or, if I pick to ask the questions then I

will then make the right decision to include the

appropriate content. By doing this I can make

sure I do not offend anyone in my documentary.

I know I am the right person to do this, as I am interested in the subject and have made a documentary in the past, so I have experience of what I must include. This is a big problem for many drivers, and I want to cover this protest. Even though it is not affecting my local area, there are people trying to make decisions for the hole of the country with an aggressive approach towards the public. However, the protesters are trying to help us, but they are stopping us from having freedom to move around are roads by putting themselves at risk.
