CH video is a full service, a creative production company based in Reading.

We have been around for 16 years now and are very proud of our established client list which spans some of the most recognised brands and businesses in the world, including PepsiCo, King’s College London, Lindt, Thames Water and Krispy Kreme.

Video is our passion and we cover a huge variety of internal and external content, from short and simple talking heads to complex 3D animation.

Our 10 strong in-house team is now on the lookout for a fresh face to become our new Production Assistant.

So, if you’re super organised, enthusiastic and creative, this is a great opportunity for you.

This is an entry-level role but it’s a very important one. You’ll get your hands dirty and get stuck in, working across multiple projects at once. You’ll be expected to work accurately, efficiently and to a high standard. No day is the same and it’s not all about admin, we promise.

Key Responsibilities

​

Admin & Pre-production

  • Provide general office admin support e.g. answer the phone, log team and company expenses, take notes at meetings, purchase supplies, manage databases, schedule and organise meetings

  • Research talent, locations, stock footage, images and music

  • Book freelancers, accommodation and travel

  • Prepare production documents e.g. supplier paperwork, call sheets, risk assessments and schedules

  • Draft quotes, proposals, storyboards, shot lists and vox pop questions

  • Prepare and organise supplied video assets

  • Source props

  • Liaise with clients e.g. manage enquiries and small scale projects

  • Contribute to client proposals and team brainstorms with your creative ideas

  • Work with relevant team members to plan ahead and post relevant content to CH Video’s social media channels three times a week

  • Upload blogs and relevant content to CH website via WordPress when required

Production

  • Manage production admin e.g. talent release forms and health declarations

  • Perform general running duties e.g. load and unload cars, collect the kit from suppliers, organise crew lunches

  • Assist with shots, lighting & camera kit rigs/de-rigs

  • Direct simple vox pops shoots

Post Production

  • Copy rushes

  • Organise and rough-cut footage ready for Producers and Editors

  • Edit vox pops

  • Cut out logos and artwork using Photoshop

  • Log production expenses

  • Assist with final file delivery and project closure

Essential

  • Degree educated or equivalent

  • Minimum of six months professional experience within the creative industry or administrative role

  • Previous relevant work experience in the video or film production industry

  • Experience of working on video shoots

  • Experienced user of Mac OS

  • Good knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro, Photoshop & InDesign

  • Good knowledge of Office365 - Excel, Word

  • Full UK driving licence

  • Car ownership/access

 

Desirable

  • Experience in using cameras (e.g. 5D, A7s, Fs7, C100)

Essentials:

They want experience in creating videos as well as editing with software's such as; Microsoft Office 365, Word and Excel, Adobe Premiere pro, Photoshop, and InDesign. They also want experience of using Mac OS (Operating Systems) which will be able to run these programs. They also want an employee to have a full UK driving licence as well as access to a car as well as ownership of car.

As a runner, I would act as a general assistant, working under the direction of the producer and other production staff to undertake whatever basic tasks are required to ensure the smooth running of the production process. I could be in the studio or in the office but both would give me experience.
